Turf Rewards - Main Header

Turf Rewards has been running for four years. Growing every year, this program from Syngenta Turf & Landscape gives turf managers an opportunity to earn great industry education opportunities.

Something that is more important than ever after a tumultuous 2020, where personal development opportunities have been harder access with lowering budgets and uncertain futures.

The generosity of last season’s participants

The unfortunate cancellation of ASTMA’s Australasian Turfgrass Conference this year due to COVID-19 resulted in some changes to the Turf Rewards system for the 2019-2020 period. Working closely with The ASTMA, Syngenta gave sports turf managers the option to donate their points to assist those within the industry who were unable to renew their ASTMA membership or subscriptions. This may have been due to any of the unusual circumstances of the past 12 months, such as COVID-19, extended drought or bushfires. Due to the overwhelming generosity of participants in this ‘pay it forward’ option the ASTMA has been able to offer memberships and subscriptions worth in excess of $9000, ensuring many who have suffered from what 2020 has thrown up remain connected with the industry.

What can you expect this year?

The Syngenta Turf Rewards program is designed to assist in the continual professional development of the sports turf management industry. Sign up for Turf Rewards today and start earning great industry benefits, including memberships with the Australian Sports Turf Managers Association and discounts for the 2021 Australasian Turf Conference. Turf managers earn and accrue points towards rewards when they buy Syngenta products from October 2020 to April 2021, and then log those purchases on the Syngenta Turf website.

There are a few changes to the program this year:

  • A new reward: The Australian Sports Turf Managers Association Certification Program. An initiative from the ASTMA aimed at encouraging Turf Managers to invest in their continued professional development and recognise the value and skills of turf managers to the Australian Sports & Recreation industry.
  • An extra month: because we know it’s been a tough year, and we’re not out of the woods yet. We’ve extended the program from 6 months to 7 months. An extra month in which to earn points might make all the difference in earning the reward your team needs.
  • A new country: that’s right, the program is now open to turf managers in New Zealand! We’re very excited to include both sides of the ditch in this great program. Keep an eye on communications from us, as we are planning some New Zealand specific rewards.
  • A different look: in the spirit of continuing development, Syngenta have updated the points logging system. It will look a bit different, but you should have all the functionality of last year and be able to use the same login details.

Simone Staples, ASTMA Events and Education Manager, says:

“The ASTMA is delighted to team with long-term industry supporter Syngenta to offer this joint initiative”. This collaboration reinvests funds back into the industry and is designed to assist turf managers in a variety of different ways.”

“Together the ASTMA and Syngenta are, as always, committed to providing support services and professional development to all areas of the sport turf maintenance industry.”

Paul Jackson – Business Manager, Turf and Landscape ANZ – also believes the partnership is an exciting educational opportunity for the industry:

“Our partnership with the ASTMA will assist turf managers in gaining relevant industry education, and increase the use of scientific diagnostics within the professional turf management industry. We’re looking forward to launching this initiative.”

The Syngenta Turf Rewards Program will run from 1 October 2020, until 30 April 2021. Products can be purchased from a Syngenta agent or dealer.
