Dr. Neil Wilson, Metagen Australia
Speaking on “Optimising soil biology for beneficial plant outcomes”, Dr Neil Wilson is a microbial ecologist with more than 20 years of research experience. He has worked in a range of fields including medical, environmental, and agricultural microbiology. After many years as a university-based researcher, six years ago he took on the role of Director of Research at Metagen with the aim of working more closely with growers and developing new soil health-based products and services for the sustainable agriculture sector. Neil is passionate about sharing the latest developments in the field of agricultural microbial ecology. He engages directly with growers on a regular basis, speaking frequently at soil health meetings and field days.
Dr. Brett Morris, Syngenta
Dr. Brett Morris has been involved in the international turf grass community for over 32 years. During this time half has been spent as a Course Superintendent at public, private and resort courses in Australia, Fiji and Indonesia. The other half has been spent in the University, R&D and commercial sectors of the industry. Brett currently serves as Technical Services Manager for Syngenta Turf and Landscape (ANZ) and works on new product introductions and technical support of the Syngenta range.

Peter Ruscoe, Sports Turf Technology
Peter is an independent turf consultant, based in Perth, with 34 years of experience as an agronomist in the turf industry. For the last 10 years, he has been studying nematodes in turf under the tutelage of Dr. Graham Stirling. Peter obtained a Master’s degree from The University of Queensland in 2020, for research into the Southern Sting nematode (Ibipora lolii) on turf grass in WA. He has two peer-reviewed articles published in the Australasian Plant Pathology Journal. Peter will share the knowledge gained from his research and provide an insight into managing the Southern Sting nematode.
Idris Evans, The Western Australian Golf Club
Idris will provide an introduction to WAGC and talk about his nematode battle during his 30+ years at the Club.
