Introducing our latest Turfectionists™ Adam Marchant, Course Superintendent at The Royal Sydney Golf Club, one of Australia's premier sporting and social clubs.

Adam Marchant has an extensive experience in turf management, which is reflected in how successfully he is managing the club with its numerous facilities, and in his dedication and a long-term vision to provide the best experiences to the club members.

In this video, Michael Bradbery from Syngenta’s Turf and Landscape team chats with Adam at a few interesting locations of the prestigious club, such as Golf Course, Function Area, and Northern Sports Complex. They talk about global sport events hosted at the club, about the development and purpose of different facilities and, of course, turf management.

Particular attention was given to an amazing heathland planting trial. This project means reducing 15 hectares of grass, creating a trial bunker complex, and turning this area into a native heathland. Adam has been watching how over the last four years the trial has been run successfully with plants thriving in the designated area.

This demonstrates a massive effort in supporting sustainability, biodiversity and ecological connectivity along with practices that provide great experiences to members of the golf club community and can serve as an inspiration to many turf managers and professionals.
